The animation process
The process can be broken down into the following stages.
- Brief
- Script
- Style
- Storyboard
- Sound (if needed)
- Production with regular progress updates
- Feedback and amendments
- Exporting for distribution and use on various devices and platforms
In each stage of the animation I will work closely with you to ensure you are happy with the project's direction.
The brief and script
Mair will work with you to establish in writing what you want to achieve and communicate with your animated video and refer back to the brief during the creative process When you commission an animation from Mair, you have access to her consultation for writing your script or translating an existing script into a visual storyboard. If you already have a script to work from, that's fine too!
The style and storyboard
You can have a style created especially for your message with your target audience in mind. If you already have a brand or style guidelines you would like used in your animation, Mair can incorporate this into the video for you. The storyboard will allow you to see what the animation will look like and how it will play out before production begins. You can have a variety of storyboard options or just one with the opportunity for revisions.
Sound
At the beginning of the project we can decide if your video needs any sound track. Whether that is music, a voice over or both. You can either provide your own or have Mair arrange the voice over and music composition for you.
Production
Production is where the magic happens. The illustrations and graphics for your animation are created based on the agreed style and storyboard. These are then animated. This is the most time consuming part but you are kept updated with the video's progress as it is made. So you can be sure you will be pleased with the outcome
Feedback and revisions
During and after the production, there will be time to review and make minor changes to the animation within the parameters of the brief If you have information such as contact details or dates that become out dated in your animation, Mair will happily update your animation so you can continue to use it.
Exporting and distrubition
Video files come in all shapes, sizes and formats. Mair is experienced is creating animated videos to display on TVs, big screens, DVDs, at events, in presentations, on Macs, on PCs, on mobiles, on tablets and iPads and embedding video on websites and social media profiles. When your animation is complete, you can consult Mair for technical assistance with distributing your animation.
